Girls Inc. Of Santa Fe Preparing for 70th Anniversary Celebration; Seeking Alumni

Nonprofit is eager to reconnect with alumni all the way back to the 1950s to celebrate their participation and accomplishments

SANTA FE, N.M. (February 10, 2025) — Girls Inc. of Santa Fe is preparing several events through 2025 to celebrate 70 years of inspiring girls to be strong, smart, and bold. The organization is asking the community for their help in identifying alumni from the programs over the span of the last 70 years.

Girls Inc. of Santa Fe was founded in 1955 as a supportive space where girls could come together to build confidence and skills for a strong future. Since moving to its beloved “Hillside” location in 1959, the organization has expanded its impact, now serving more than 1,000 girls annually. Through research-based programs focusing on healthy living (Strong), academic achievement (Smart), and life skills and independence (Bold), Girls Inc. continues to inspire new generations of leaders.

Current Chief Executive Officer Kim Brown began working at Girls Inc. of Santa Fe as a program manager in 2005. Brown was later promoted to Director of Operation and eventually was chosen to lead the Santa Fe affiliate.

“Our 70th anniversary is not just a moment to look back at how we’ve grown, but an opportunity to envision the future we continue to build,” said Kim Brown, CEO of Girls Inc. of Santa Fe. “During our 70th Anniversary, it is important to look at our plans for the future and simultaneously to look back at our past and how we have grown. It’s my hope that through our work this year we can reconnect with and honor alumni dating all the way back to our first year in 1955.”

If you are an alumnus or know someone that participated in Girls Inc. Of Santa Fe, the organization is eager to connect. Please reach out to Storm Stephens at rstephens@girlsincofsantafe.org.
