With this result, Deoleo once again ranks in the top 1% of more than 130,000 companies evaluated globally for their performance in environmental, social, and governance (ESG) criteria. The company achieved an outstanding rating in Environment (93/100), as well as notable scores in Labor Practices and Human Rights (85/100), Sustainable Procurement (83/100), and Ethics (80/100). According to Mariu Luchetti, Deoleo’s Marketing, Sustainability, and Innovation Director: “Revalidating the EcoVadis Platinum Medal with an even better score is a recognition of the daily effort of everyone at Deoleo. This achievement demonstrates that our commitment to sustainability not only remains strong but advances year after year, integrating best practices across all dimensions of our company.” The highest distinction reinforces Deoleo’s leadership and excellence in ESG, driven by its sustainability strategy “We Care for What Cares for You”, which focuses on environmental protection, responsible resource management, and the development of local communities. This vision materializes through multiple initiatives that cover everything from the origin of the oil to its commercialization, always with a responsible and transparent approach. Recognition of Best Practices Promoted by the Company Among Deoleo’s most notable ESG projects is the Sustainability Protocol, a pioneering initiative in the sector that, since 2018, has promoted sustainable practices among farmers and mills to ensure more responsible and higher-quality olive oil. Thanks to this program, the company collaborates with more than 60,000 farmers worldwide and is moving toward its goal of sourcing 70% of extra virgin olive oil from mills certified under this program by 2030. On the environmental front, Deoleo has reduced its greenhouse gas emissions by 30% over the past two years thanks to its Climate Transition Plan and the use of 100% renewable energy in 98% of its electricity consumption. Additionally, its factories in Spain and Italy maintain the “Zero Waste” certification, and the company has increased the use of recycled materials, with 25% of plastic packaging made from rPET material. Socially, Deoleo promotes equality and diversity, with 40% of its workforce being women, and fosters female talent through initiatives such as the Creciendo Juntas (Growing Together) congress, which will hold its second edition next week. It also strengthens continuous training for its teams and product transparency through technologies like blockchain in brands such as Carbonell and Maestros de Hojiblanca, allowing consumers to know the origin of olive oil with full traceability. The EcoVadis Platinum Medal thus stands as a recognition of Deoleo’s sustainable excellence and its active contribution to building a more responsible business model that combines profitability, positive impact, and respect for the planet.
